I never imagined that I would one day be writing this from a cozy Airbnb nestled in the heart of Kochi, with my dog curled up next to me, a Gharma Gharam Chai steaming by my side, and my MacBook open to a world of possibilities. But here I am, living the dream of many—a female digital nomad in India.
And let me tell you, it’s not always as dreamy as it sounds—but it’s so worth it. 💫
💼 Who Am I?
Hi! I’m Kalaivani, an image consultant, corporate soft skills trainer, and travel blogger—and yes, I juggle all of those while being a full-time pet parent, adventurer, and design-lover who can’t resist an aesthetically pleasing home.

My journey into nomadism started not out of rebellion, but out of a need for freedom, flexibility, and a deeper connection to both my passions and my country.
📍 Why I Chose to Go Nomadic in India
India has so much to offer—from the serene hills of Ooty to the creative buzz of Bangalore’s cafés. As a woman, safety was my first priority. I chose cities and towns that are:
✅ Pet-friendly
✅ Affordable
✅ Known for their progressive, welcoming communities
✅ Wi-Fi reliable
Some of my favorite stays so far:
🏖️ Fort Kochi, Kerala – Pet friendly Cafes
🌸 Kumily, Kerala – Touristy yet serene
🏞️ Kanjirapally, Kerala – A nature escape with homestays
🏙️ Coimbatore – My comfort zone and home base
🐶 Living Alone with My Dog: My Constant Companion
My indie dog, Browny , is not just a pet— she's my emotional support, my adventure buddy, and a pro at sniffing out dog-friendly cafes (Also strangers). 🐾
I always check pet policies before booking Airbnb stays.

👩💻 How I Work on the Road as a Digital Nomad Image Consultant
Being an image consultant and trainer might sound like a city-bound job—but it doesn’t have to be. Here’s how I make it work:
💻 I conduct consultations and workshops via Zoom + Calendly
📝 I use Notion and Google Workspace to manage client plans, wardrobe edits, and session notes
🧾 Payments via Razorpay or Stripe (Stripe has better support for international clients)
I keep my weekdays structured for client work and spend weekends exploring or blogging.
🧳 How I Travel Long Distance with My Dog

Long journeys with a dog can be tricky—but manageable.
Here’s what helps:
We travel by Car & that's a boon! Pit Stops whenever & wherever :)
🐾 I carry a Eco friendly travel Bed and calming spray
📜 Vet-certified health certificate and updated vaccinations are always with me
Bonus Tip: Join local pet communities wherever you travel—they're super supportive and helpful.

🪴 Keeping My Place Aesthetic, Even on the Move
I need beauty around me. Whether I’m staying a week or a month, I bring:
🕯️ A foldable vision board with my goals
📚 3 of my favorite books (and a Kindle for the rest)
🎨 A roll-up organizer with locally collected Plants, Yoga Mat and fairy lights
Aesthetic doesn't have to be expensive—just intentional.
🔄 What This Journey Has Taught Me
Discomfort is part of the process: Whether it’s flaky Wi-Fi or feeling lonely in a new city, growth happens when you embrace the unknown.
Your lifestyle can be designed: I don’t have to choose between being a dog mom, entrepreneur, and travel lover—I can be all three.
Freedom is responsibility: Being nomadic requires planning, budgeting, and showing up consistently—even if you're watching the sunrise from a cliff.
💬 Final Thoughts
If you’re a woman in India dreaming of becoming a digital nomad—it’s 100% possible. Whether you’re a creative, consultant, or freelancer, you can design a lifestyle that suits you and your passions. You just need courage, a clear plan, and maybe a dog by your side. 🐶💛
